Parental Writes #8 – Piano LessonsPaul Reyburn
Duncan has been taking piano lessons for a number of years now. Even though Suzanne teaches piano and voice, she WILL NOT teach Duncan. As nice as that might be, she knew that was a recipe for disaster. As it is, when he’s in his lesson, he fiddles on the keys constantly.
When he puts his mind to it and practices, he’s pretty good. Especially when he gets a song he likes.
(OK-he’s not playing that one. Yet).
It’s fun when he sits down and just plays. Even if he’s just goofing around and making up his own stuff, it’s something he enjoys.
Now, if we would just remember to have him practice daily for 15 – 30 minutes, we’d all enjoy the end product more.
