How About Some Non-Traditional Ideas For A Family Valentine’s Day?

Save money on a babysitter and enjoy Valentine’s Day as a family. Here are some fun ideas to show how much you love love! Adapt as you see fit. 🙂

1. Everyone help make a fancy dinner. Depending on the size of your family, everyone gets to pick a course. Make homemade heart-shaped pizza or hamburgers! Or have an indoor picnic!

2. Dress up and go out to a “fancy” restaurant. Not necessarily the most expensive, of course. Many restaurants will have specials or be decorated in a fun theme. For years, White Castle has hosted Valentine’s Day dinners with balloons, flowers, etc… I have friends who do this every year and they love it! (be sure to make reservations!).

3. Movies! If you have older kids, maybe put in a nice comedy/romantic comedy/musical. Who doesn’t like “Singin’ In The Rain”or “The Princess Bride”?

If you have younger kids, maybe a movie that deals with friendship such as “Toy Story” or “Wall-E”. Make some popcorn and settle in!
